Sports are Great

...and non-partisan. If we could all sit down on a Sunday afternoon and solve all our problems life would be easier, to bad not everyone is a football fan. I'll raise the minimum wage if the Bengals beat ........Wouldn't that be sweet, everyone knows that on any given Sunday any team can beat any other team. Now WHAT ABOUT THEM STEELERS!!!!!!! Obviously I am writing this after a great butt whipping of the Eagles.....

OK, not only did the republicans slaughter the liberals in the election this week, but even better, yes I said better, is the fact my Pittsburgh Steelers are now the best team in the NFL...sniff, sniff, do I smell a Super Bowl in the future? A resurgance of the 70's Steel Curtain? Ouch! I hurt myself thinking about the possibilities.

I love football.....9/1, and counting

Can they be stopped? I don't know. I hope not. The Steelers schedule is harder than New England, so to have home field advantage throughout the playoffs we must hope for a Steeler sweep, and a New England breakdown. 10-1 and counting.

I hate these nail-biting games, you know, like Sunday night against the Jaguars. Why did the Steelers get away from running the ball? We were pretty much dominated most of this game. I really don't like waiting until the final seconds of the game to find out the outcome. Bad for blood pressure, and we all know what Eddie Murphy said "Stress kills Mother fu**ers". Oh well, 4 seconds left and they are trying to kick a 60 yard field goal to win the game......WIDE RIGHT! Yippee! STEELERS are 11-1, with 10 wins in a row......

Hall of Fame wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers is considering running for governor of Pennsylvania. Wow. Talk about mixing 2 of my favorite subjects.....and he's a republican.

The Jets had me a little worried.....actually Big Ben had me worried, but our defense pulled it out and Jerome Bettis took it to the house and won the game. 12-1 and counting. The Giants are next and worry me only because they are so bad the Steelers may overlook them and lose an easy win.

The Giants picked a heck of a day to come out and play football. Eli sure had poor timing picking today to come out of his slump, oh well, the Steelers still won, but it sure gave me a scare. After 2 back to back weeks against teams treating the game against the Steelers as a playoff game, forcing the black and gold to play at an iontensity usually reserved for the playoffs has taken its toll. Add that to a shortened week and the Steelers were fortunate to come out with a win. Congrats to Big Ben for a big day, over 300 yards passing, and to Ward and Randle El for over 100 yard recieving each, and last but not least to the Bus, Jerome Bettis, what a game.....

Looky, looky, looky, Terrell Owens out, Eagles no threat, New England lost to Miami, GO FISH! Steelers are all but assured home field advantage and of course a week bye to heal. The best thing to do would be not play Staley or Burris for the next 2 games, take our chances with Baltimore and Buffalo, and let the team heal. Heck, we should even let Tommy Maddox QB part of both the next games to keep Big Ben healthy.

Welllllll! How about that. Our second stringers beat the Bills in Buffalo, while they were fighting for their playoff lives. How can the Steelers not win the Super Bowl? By not getting there. If the boys get there they are going to win. The NFC has no one, and I mean no one that can beat the Steelers. First thought we have to contend with some very tough AFC teams, namely the Patriots and Colts...scary.

Well the wildcard rounds are over so now the Steelers, with lots of rest, get to host the Jets again. I am not too worried, I am worried about the winner of the Indy/New England game though, both would be a challenge. The NFC is an enigma, 3 visiting underdogs won their contests, that boads ill for the Falcons and Eagles....

Well that was scary....the Steelers did everything they could to give the game away, but if you really look at the stats, the Steelers held the Jets to 3 offensive points, but they do count special teams and defense in the NFL so they got a TD and they missed 2 field goals. Next week the Colts or Patriots..........

And the Patriots it is....Now I am worried. What a shalaking they gave the scary looking Colts yikes!
Lets hope Big Ben get back on the high road and stops with the interception thing. Lets hope the Eagles beat the Falcons because they scare me too. Ok Vick scares me. But it is all moot if the boys fall to the defending National champs next week.....we will just have to wait and see.
