Everyone Hates Walmart

Here is this really great article about how Walmart may have saved Levi Strauss.

Greens say Kyoto will not stop global warming

Well at least there are SOME honest liberals in the world. Why don't we hear this trumpeted on the news? Why don't more liberals read and understand this? Why will they not apologize to Bush for all their insults about the Kyoto agreement and how we, Americans, are so at fault and so evil. Read the story linked to the title. I just realized that thyis has been a prolific blogging weekend for me, I better take some time off......

War Unwinnable In Face Of Renewed........

Read the satirical news report linked to the title. It gives you a "todays media" view of what could have been said during WWII during the Battle of the Bulge. Don't stop there, read the comments, some, like this....."The Germans didn't attack us, the Japanese did", are very relevant and humorous.

Who wears the Jack boots now?

The ACLU is accused od collecting personal information on its supporters and is a taste of the article which is linked to the title.

T he American Civil Liberties Union is using sophisticated technology to collect a wide variety of information about its members and donors in a fund-raising effort that has ignited a bitter debate over its leaders' commitment to privacy rights.

Some board members say the extensive data collection makes a mockery of the organization's frequent criticism of banks, corporations and government agencies for their practice of accumulating data on people for marketing and other purposes.

Arab American Civil Rights?

The article linked to the title is about a poll taken of Americans and their opinions about Arab American civil rights. Sadly we forget the lessons off the past, remember the Japenese internment camps of WWII?

Abortion vs fetus murder

I hate to bring this up but cannot help it. The story linked to the title talks about babies stolen from their mothers is an excerpt:
"In the most recent case, a 21-year-old woman was shot to death in Oklahoma in December 2003, allegedly by another woman who pretended the 6-month-old fetus was her child. The fetus died and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty."
Now if it is abortion to end the existance of a fetus, and murder to take a fetus out of a mother before it dies, what exactly is the difference?

The Declaration of Arbroath (morphed)

Similar to our own Declaration of Independence, but written thousands of miles away and hundreds of years before. You can read the conviction in their letter. Posted under first comment.

EDIT: morphed into a Scottish heritage post.

Parenthood is the most important job in the world. A mom and a dad, working in conjunction, can have more of an impact on a life than all the teachers and government programs in the world, more than any social group or religious organization, more than any external influence in the world. But it takes them both. The rest is in the first comment post.

Radical Islam cannot be ignored

It is a subject I had tried to avoid, as I despise targeting a group based on a common denominator, i.e. religion, race, political persuasion, get the idea. But this is rediculous. The story is linked to the title, but in essence it is about a radical muslim pizza delivery guy targeting the red light district.....guess where? Amsterdam. Yup, same place a fellow was killed for making a movie.

Military Affairs

A soldier asked some pointed questions of the Secretary of Defense in Iraq. Were the questions valid, and what do they tell us about the state of mind of Americans in the modern era? As usual, I will put most of my thoughts in the first comment block to save room. The link is in the title.

So...Communism is not a threat?

Linked to the title is a blog spelling out a 45 year old goal of the communists in the old USSR. Look at how many they accomplished, and are still accomplishing, thanks to our liberal bretheren.

This is a link to a liberal blog that Angela and I debate(d) on. I have stopped going there because of the constant insults. In the first post I am including what led up to my final post on this site. I decided not to post it over there, the sarcasm would have been too deep.

Oink! Oink! Pork Anyone?

Congressional Leadership Brings Home the Pork
<>The 3,016-page and $388.4 billion omnibus spending bill that Congress approved November 20 included thousands of earmarks, otherwise known as "pork-barrel" projects.
<>Leaders of both houses of Congress wasted little time publicizing much of the money they had managed to sneak in to the bill to benefit narrow interests in their home states or districts.
<>Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R.-Tenn.) provided the most detailed list, for which he also credited his home state colleague, Sen. Lamar Alexander (R.-Tenn.). Incoming Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) also produced a long list of the pork-barrel items he was bringing home this Christmas season.
<>In the House, neither Speaker Dennis Hastert (R.-Ill.) nor Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R.-Tex.) released information about the earmarks for their districts. But Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R.-Mo.), who is the third-ranking Republican, and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) played up their accomplishments.
<>We have compiled the list of earmarks attributable to Senators Frist and Reid and Representatives Blunt and Pelosi from their own press releases and with the help of Angela French, a research associate at Citizens Against Government Waste.
Find out what Pork congressional leaders are bringing home: Visit the link in the title.

As a fiscal conservative this really pisses me off, regardless of the party involved.

What is your name in Runes?

Lets lighten up the political rhetoric with a bit of fun. VIKING FUN! Check the link in the title to find out how to spell your name in runes.

Its the Economy stupid

Our economy is growing regardless of the negative spin of the left. Read the article linked to the title. And here is more...

In this article it talks about a place in the heartland that has more jobs than people.
